Our process
From your first idea to a plan for the work.
You do not need drawings, measurements, or material choices before reaching out. Tell us what you would like to change, and we’ll discuss how the work can fit your home.
1. Tell us what you have in mind.
Perhaps you want a more welcoming front entrance, a place to gather outside, or a driveway that better connects with your home. You can start with a simple conversation. There is no project brief to prepare.
2. Find a layout that fits.
We’ll talk about how you use the space: where you park, where people walk, or where a table and chairs might go. The relationship to doors, gates, steps, and existing paving helps shape the layout. We can discuss material colors, patterns, and finishes together.
3. Consider what supports the finished surface.
Paver installation involves more than the visible pattern. Existing ground, removal, base preparation, bedding, joints, and edge support all affect the work. The construction appropriate for a driveway may differ from a garden path; we consider those conditions for your property.

Work behind the finished walkway.
This photo shows a walkway during installation, before the surrounding area was complete. The preparation and connections matter as much as the finished paving.
4. Account for water and connections.
We consider ground levels, rainwater, and how new masonry meets doors, steps, adjoining paving, and the rest of the yard. If drainage work is needed, it can be discussed as part of the project scope.
5. Give walls the right purpose.
A retaining wall holds back soil; a seating wall and stone veneer serve different purposes. For retaining work, height, slope, nearby structures, and water can affect the design and any site-specific requirements. We discuss what the wall needs to do before focusing on its finish.
